Happy Wheels has arrived just as the tragic and blasphemous demise of Flash is imminent. That was an intense moment. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Hopefully, the anxiety over losing Happy Wheels hasn’t kept you from enjoying a peaceful night’s sleep. If you weren’t aware that this game was in development, here’s some exciting news: this marks the first public release of the game. Please bear with us as we work to iron out any remaining bugs.
Although I still prefer the original Flash version, what I appreciate about this new version is its excellent performance on mobile devices. Currently, however, there are no on-screen controls for mobile play, but they will be added in the next update. Thank you for your patience. If you’re eager to try it out on your phone now, a Bluetooth keyboard can provide a great experience.
While I initially indicated that the game would run at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels may experience noticeable slowdown at that framerate. Fortunately, this setting is adjustable, and I might host a version running at 60Hz on a separate page for users with high-performance CPUs. Overall, Happy Wheels JS aims to be a faithful recreation of the original in both design and gameplay. The database of users, levels, and replays remains intact since the original release. The only thing that has been lost is the impending doom of the universe’s end.
